A traveling Israeli food truck will stop at the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center in North Miami Beach on Sunday, Oct. 25, serving free street food from noon to 3 p.m.
Israeli chef Yossi Shitrit will cook alongside Ilan Cohen of DVASH in Boca Raton at the first stop of the Israel Ministry of Tourism’s four-city Taste of Israel Food Truck Tour, according to the official tour website.
No tickets or registration are required. Tastings are available while supplies last, and organizers encourage visitors to arrive early. The event is advertised as kosher style, with a vegetarian option at every stop. The website does not identify the food as certified kosher.
Shitrit is the chef behind HIBA, a tasting-menu restaurant in Tel Aviv. The Best Chef’s 2025 guide profile recognizes him with one knife, its “Excellent” distinction.
Cohen is a self-taught chef who began cooking in Jerusalem more than 20 years ago, according to DVASH’s website. He and his wife, Lauren, opened sister restaurant Falafel Bistro & Wine Bar in 2007. Their children, Anabel and Noam, also work in the family business.
The tour pairs Shitrit with a local chef or food creator in each city. After North Miami Beach, the schedule lists Atlanta on Oct. 27, Nashville on Oct. 28 and Dallas on Oct. 30.
The Michael-Ann Russell JCC is at 18900 NE 25th Ave. in North Miami Beach. The tour website lists the Oct. 25 event from noon to 3 p.m. Eastern time.
