A $33 million penthouse sale at the Estates at Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach ranked as the second-highest luxury closing in South Florida in September 2026.

The sale at 17975 Collins Ave. was the priciest transaction on record for the oceanfront tower, according to The Real Deal. The 52nd-story unit spans about 8,858 square feet with six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. It had been listed at $35 million.

An affiliate of Jules and Eddie Trump's Trump Group sold the unit to Acquilina 26 LLC, an entity tied to consultant Lindsay Levert and real estate attorney Maria Marta Calderon of Hallandale Beach, The Real Deal reported. Morgan Stanley provided the buyer a $20.5 million loan. The Trump Group is not related to President Donald Trump.

The Acqualina deal was part of a strong September across the region's luxury tier. Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties recorded 94 residential closings at $3 million or more, totaling $645.4 million, according to the Haute Residence Market Report.

Closings rose 16% from August's 81 sales. The average sale price fell 10.9% to $6.87 million, with 86.2% of deals landing between $3 million and $10 million.

Sunny Isles Beach posted six luxury closings worth $57.9 million for the month, with a $9.6 million average sale price. Miami Beach led all markets at $178.5 million across 29 sales.

Across the broader Miami-Dade market, total home sales fell 2% year over year in September to 1,733 transactions, according to the Miami Association of Realtors (MIAMI REALTORS). Mortgage rates climbed nearly 0.6 percentage points since Sept. 1 to reach 7.46% as of Oct. 13.

Total active listings dropped 10.1% year over year to 16,242. Condo inventory fell for the eighth straight month.

"We are continuing to see the negative impact of soaring mortgage rates on homebuyers, but upper-end buyers have remained active …" MIAMI REALTORS Chief Economist Gay Cororaton said in the association's October report.

Cash buyers appear insulated from the rate pressure. Cash sales made up 38.3% of Miami closings in September, well above the national average of about 27%. Nearly half of all condo sales were all-cash deals.

Through September, Miami-Dade had already recorded 24 home sales of $30 million or more, topping the full-year 2025 record of 21 transactions.

Daniel Ickowicz, CEO of Aventura-headquartered Elite International Realty, said in an April press release that the firm continued to see strong demand from domestic and international buyers who view South Florida as a long-term investment.

The Haute Residence report tracks deed records and press-verified transactions across 44 ZIP codes, with data through Sept. 30 verified as of Oct. 5.
