Sukkot, the weeklong Jewish Festival of Booths, begins at sundown on Friday, Sept. 25, and ends at nightfall on Friday, Oct. 2.

Temple Sinai of North Dade published a family guide on Thursday, Sept. 10, walking Aventura and North Miami Beach families through the holiday's traditions. The guide, written by Ben Rudnick, covers sukkah-building, the Four Species ritual involving the lulav and etrog, and the ushpizin custom of welcoming symbolic guests. Senior Rabbi Alan Litwak leads the congregation.

Separately, Young Israel of Sunny Isles Beach noted in its Sept. 4 bulletin that members can order a set of Arba Minim, the Four Species, by contacting Rabbi Haber at the synagogue at 17395 N Bay Rd., #107.
