Swiss athletic brand On will celebrate the opening of its permanent Aventura Mall store Friday, Oct. 9, with a three-day lineup of events, including a free 5K community run, giveaways and complimentary refreshments.

The grand opening celebration runs through Sunday, Oct. 11, according to Aventura Mall's event announcement.

The main event takes place Saturday, Oct. 10, when On teams up with Aventura-based Runknown Run Club for a community 5K from 8 to 10 a.m.

Free 5K highlights opening weekend

The celebration begins Friday with an exclusive gift with purchase for shoppers visiting the new On store. The offer is available while supplies last.

Saturday's community run begins at the Outdoor Courtyard near the Aventura Slide Tower.

Following the run, participants can try shoes from On's latest collection, enjoy complimentary coffee and refreshments, enter raffles and receive giveaways.

The mall's event listing includes an RSVP link for the run.

On Sunday, Oct. 11, visitors can enjoy complimentary coffee or matcha while browsing the store's newest arrivals.

Local running club brings community connection

Runknown Run Club, founded in 2025, has become a regular presence at Aventura Mall, hosting weekly Tuesday evening runs.

The club says its gatherings attract more than 100 participants, with runners meeting at 6:45 p.m. for a three-mile route that also accommodates walkers.

Past brand partners include Lamborghini Miami, Lululemon and WHOOP.

The partnership with On brings together a local running community and an international performance footwear company.

Founded in Zurich in 2010 by former Swiss Ironman champion Olivier Bernhard and co-founders David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti, On specializes in running shoes, athletic apparel and performance sportswear.

The Miami Herald reported in June that On was among several new retailers expected to open at Aventura Mall, alongside luxury brands Celine, Missoni and Rimowa, as well as fashion retailer Revolve.

The opening adds another athletic footwear destination to the mall's retail lineup.
