Westbound I-395 at Biscayne Boulevard will close overnight Monday, Nov. 2, and Tuesday, Nov. 3, as crews work on the downtown Miami interchange. A Sunday closure in the three-night sequence has already passed.
The Florida Department of Transportation says Monday’s closure starts at 11 p.m. and includes all westbound lanes at Biscayne Boulevard. The northbound and southbound I-95 ramps to westbound State Road 836 also close during the same overnight window. An Oct. 30 FDOT traffic alert says Tuesday’s closure begins at 10 p.m. and lasts until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4. The downtown Miami ramp to I-395 will close as crews prepare to open a new westbound I-395 ramp to southbound I-95 on Wednesday morning.
Monday night detour to S.R. 836
Drivers on westbound I-395 continuing to S.R. 836 should exit at Biscayne Boulevard (Exit 2), continue west on NE 13th Street, turn right on NE First Avenue and left on NW 14th Street. Continue to NW 12th Avenue, then turn right on NW Seventh Street and right on NW 17th Avenue to reach the westbound S.R. 836 entrance ramp, FDOT said.
Tuesday night detour
Drivers continuing on westbound I-395 should exit at Biscayne Boulevard, turn left and continue south to NE Sixth Street. From there, follow FDOT’s posted detours for I-95 or S.R. 836.
The new ramp from westbound I-395 to southbound I-95 opens Wednesday morning. The change moves the entrance about 500 feet earlier and separates traffic for southbound I-95, S.R. 836 and northbound I-95. Check the project’s traffic alerts before traveling; schedules can change.
