Tickets are now available for Joshua Kane's one-man show "In My Own Lifetime: How Broadway Musicals Made Me Jewish," a blend of Golden Age showtunes and personal storytelling coming to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2027.

Ticket details and performance times

The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center announced the ticket sale Wednesday. The show, presented by the city of Aventura, will have two performances that day at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

About Joshua Kane

Kane, a classically trained actor and member of Actors Equity Association, has performed as an actor, storyteller and voice artist in New York City and across North America for more than 30 years. He studied with Stella Adler, Bobby Lewis, the National Shakespeare Conservatory and mime legend Marcel Marceau. The NY Daily News once called his voice "a voice that mesmerizes."

The show's premise is simple. What happens when a kid skips Hebrew school and studies the American Songbook instead?

In Kane's case, he grew up to celebrate the first-generation Jewish composers who shaped the American musical, weaving in stories from his own life along the way. According to the center's event page, the lineup of composers he honors includes Sheldon Harnick, Jerry Bock, Harold Rome, Anthony Newley, Leslie Bricusse, Rodgers & Hammerstein & Hart, Sylvia Fine, Betty Comden and Adolph Green.

Kane has run his own theatrical production company since 1991 and has played limited runs at off-Broadway's historic Lambs Theatre and the Neighborhood Playhouse.
