More than a dozen free programs at the Northeast Dade–Aventura Branch Library give local families air-conditioned activities every day this week, while two Sunny Isles Beach events offer residents a chance to clean their shoreline and shape the city's flood-protection future.

The Northeast Dade–Aventura Branch, 2930 Aventura Blvd., is hosting programs daily through Saturday, July 18. All are free.

Monday, July 13: Talking is Teaching – Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers (11:30 a.m., ages 18 months–3); Chess Club (4 p.m., ages 8+); Realize Your American Dream citizenship classes presented by Hispanic Unity of Florida (6 p.m., registration required).

Tuesday, July 14: Contención emocional en tiempos de crisis: Venezuela, a Spanish-language emotional support session facilitated by Manuel Zavala, PhD (10 a.m., ages 19+); Talking is Teaching for Preschoolers (4:30 p.m., ages 3–5).

Wednesday, July 15: Falun Gong Meditation and Exercise (10 a.m.); Overcoming Stress & Anxiety with Meditation led by Steve Pollack (1 p.m.); Building Healthy Relationships presented by the Roxcy Bolton Rape Treatment Center at Jackson Health System (4 p.m., teens 12–18 earn one community service hour).

Thursday, July 16: Senior Medicare Patrol fraud information table (10 a.m.); Tai Chi led by certified instructor Laura Flagel (11 a.m.); AARP Senior Planet Tech Thursdays on "AI and Disinformation" (2:30 p.m., ages 55+); Creative Kids (4:30 p.m., ages 6–11).

Saturday, July 18: Summer Homework Help and Tutoring (10 a.m.–1 p.m., grades K–12, certified teachers, funded by The Children's Trust and Kislak Foundation).

Beach cleanup, Saturday, July 18

Sunny Isles Beach holds its monthly Beach Cleanup on Saturday, July 18, 8–11 a.m. at Newport Fishing Pier, 16501 Collins Ave. The city rotates locations each month. No registration required. Flood adaptation meeting, Tuesday, July 21

Sunny Isles Beach hosts its first public input session on a state-funded Coastal Inundation and Flooding Adaptation Plan on Tuesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. in the First Floor Meeting Room at the Government Center, 18070 Collins Ave. Resident feedback will help determine which infrastructure projects the city pursues for future state grant funding. Free parking at the Government Center lot.
