Aventura Mall aims on turning soccer fans into shoppers through watch parties, pop-up events and brand activations as thousands of visitors travel through South Florida for tournament matches.
The 2.8 million-square-foot shopping center, about seven miles from Hard Rock Stadium, reported a 9% increase in foot traffic during the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier. Average visitor dwell time also climbed to nearly two hours, according to Chain Store Age.
Mall officials said they have expanded year-round pop-up events and brand activations tied to the World Cup.
Watch parties and Brightline offer match-day options for fans
Jacinta de Mexico, located at 19501 Biscayne Blvd., is hosting FIFA World Cup watch parties throughout the tournament, including one Sunday, July 6.
Fans attending matches can also board Brightline at Aventura Mall's station for service to Miami before continuing to Hard Rock Stadium.
The stadium has four World Cup matches remaining, including the England-Norway quarterfinal at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and the third-place match Saturday, July 18.
Tournament drives higher spending across host cities
The World Cup is producing measurable economic gains across the United States, although Aventura-specific spending figures have not been released.
According to Bank of America Institute data covering June 10 through June 28, consumer spending across the tournament's 16 host cities increased 5.4% compared with the same period last year, while spending by out-of-town visitors rose 17.4%, according to Newsweek.
Mobility analytics firm Arity reported bars near SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles experienced a 220% increase in visitation on opening match day.
FIFA projects the tournament will generate approximately $14 billion in event-related spending and contribute $17.2 billion to the U.S. economy, according to statements cited by JPMorgan.
New retailers and restaurants fuel the mall's expansion
More than a dozen retailers have signed leases at Aventura Mall in recent months, including Uniqlo, Celine, Revolve, SuitSupply, Parfums de Marly and Scandy Candy, according to Chain Store Age.
The mall now features about 50 restaurants, cafés and other dining venues.
Jackie Soffer, CEO of Turnberry, credited continued investment in dining, entertainment and the tenant mix for the mall's recent momentum.
Earlier this year, USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards named Aventura Mall the nation's best shopping mall for the second consecutive year.
World Cup schedule continues through July 18
Hard Rock Stadium's next World Cup match is the England-Norway quarterfinal on Saturday, July 11. The Miami tournament schedule concludes with the third-place match on Saturday, July 18.
