Sushi ZeY, a family-owned restaurant near Aventura Mall, is serving sushi in push-pop tubes. The restaurant at 20808 Biscayne Blvd. has tapped a format that went viral after New York City's Suka Sushi popularized it in late 2025.

The concept is simple. Pre-sliced rolls sit inside a tube, and a thinner tube of soy sauce doubles as a plunger to push each piece out, according to Mashed.com, which named the tube format a top food trend of 2026.

Owner Sati Zeynalova told WSVN's Deco Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 2 that the menu emphasizes creativity. Beyond the tubes, the restaurant offers sushi bouquets, bento sushi cakes and signature baked rolls made with salmon and a special cream sauce.

"It's a special recipe by our chef. It comes with salmon, special cream, that's the thing which you need to try," Zeynalova said.

The visual presentations have become a draw of their own. Zeynalova said guests often want to admire the sushi bouquets and bento cakes before eating them.

The baked rolls have also attracted guests who typically avoid raw fish. One diner told WSVN her husband "does not tolerate any raw fish," but after trying Sushi ZeY, "now he's a sushi eater."

Desserts were a surprise hit. Zeynalova said guests ask about them daily, a category she did not expect to take off.

The restaurant's website lists rolls starting at $7.90 for avocado maki, with baked exclusives like the Baked Melt at $22.18 and the Big Roll at $24.78. A platter called Baked vs Fried tops the menu at $95.75. The full menu spans maki, fried tempura rolls, soups, salads and appetizers.

Pre-orders are available through the restaurant's Instagram page, @sushi_zey.
