City Commission meets on budget and e-bikes

The Aventura City Commission holds two public sessions on Thursday, July 23, at the Aventura Government Center, 19200 W. Country Club Drive. The city's agenda center lists both a Budget Review meeting and a Regular Workshop at 9 a.m.; it is unclear whether they run back-to-back or simultaneously.

The workshop agenda names two discussion items: an Aventura Arts & Cultural Center update and an e-bike and e-scooter update, both presented by City Manager Jeff Kiltie. This is the commission's first budget review session for the upcoming fiscal year, according to city agenda records. No specific budget figures have been released.

Volunteers needed for senior hurricane prep

Meals on Wheels South Florida is partnering with Florida Power & Light and the Florida Council on Aging to deliver hurricane preparedness meal kits to more than 100 seniors across Broward County on Saturday, July 25, at 9 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the nonprofit's warehouse at 6741 W. Sunrise Blvd., Bay A-6, in Plantation, then fan out to deliver three meal kits and a printed hurricane guide to each client.

Constituents' Day in Sunny Isles Beach

Sunny Isles Beach hosts Constituents' Day on Thursday, July 30, at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center. According to the city's event calendar, residents will be able to access services from several Miami-Dade County offices and city departments in a single visit.
