Nearly 30,000 pounds of imported Argentinian beef that skipped a required federal safety check are now subject to a recall by Aventura-based Corte Argentino USA LLC, and some of that product landed in Florida stores.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall on Friday, Aug. 7, saying 29,628 pounds of raw beef entered the country without undergoing the mandatory import reinspection that all foreign meat must pass before reaching American consumers.

The recalled products were produced between May 15 and May 20, 2026, and carry use-or-freeze-by dates between Sept. 15 and Sept. 20, 2026. That means the beef is still within its use window and could be in local freezers.

What to look for

Consumers should check packaging for two identifiers: Argentinian establishment number "EST. N° OF. 2025" and shipping mark "26644-AA." The products were distributed to retailers and distributors in Florida and Texas.

No specific store names have been released. FSIS said a retail distribution list will be posted at fsis.usda.gov/recalls when available.

No illnesses reported

No one has gotten sick. FSIS discovered the problem during routine inspection activities, not in response to any consumer complaint. As of the Aug. 7 announcement, no confirmed illnesses or injuries have been linked to the recalled beef.

The agency urged consumers not to eat any affected product. Throw it away or return it to the store where you bought it.
