Aventura voters face unsettled weather during the final weekend of early voting. Early voting in Miami-Dade ends at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. The National Weather Service forecast for Aventura, updated Friday, called for a 70% chance of rain Saturday and 90% Sunday, with highs near 84 and 82, respectively. Its Election Day forecast was a 30% chance of rain and a high near 84. The NWS also issued a coastal flood advisory for Miami-Dade through Saturday evening. Voters should check current conditions before traveling.
Where to vote early in Aventura
The Northeast Dade-Aventura Branch Library, at 2930 Aventura Blvd., is one of Miami-Dade's early voting sites, according to the county elections office. Early voting hours run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Nov. 1.
Each early voting location also has a Secure Ballot Intake Station for voters who prefer to deliver a completed mail-in ballot in person.
Mail ballot warning
That drop-off option carries extra weight right now. Juan Mendieta, Miami-Dade's deputy supervisor of elections, recommends voters drop off their ballots or vote in person to make sure their vote counts, the Miami Herald reported Oct. 28. Miami-Dade hasn't seen postal delays, Mendieta said, but all mail-in ballots must arrive by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
On Election Day, voters must go to their assigned polling location. Miami-Dade's online elections portal can help residents find theirs.
Early voting at the Aventura Branch Library and all Miami-Dade sites continues through 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. Election Day polls open Tuesday, Nov. 3.
