Sunny Isles Beach residents can renew a driver's license, file for Homestead Exemption and get answers on condo association questions without driving to a county office. All of it will be available in one stop on Thursday, July 30, at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center, 18070 Collins Ave.

The city's Constituents' Day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment is needed. Staff from several Miami-Dade County offices and city departments will be on-site, according to the city's event listing. The City of Sunny Isles Beach announced the event on its official X account on Monday, July 27, calling it a chance to access "essential services" in one location.

Services listed for the drop-in session include:

  • Driver's license renewal, replacement and reinstatement
  • Voter registration
  • Condominium and condominium owners' association (COA) questions
  • Homestead Exemption assistance
  • Property tax savings information

The city also promises free giveaways while supplies last.

City-County Partnership Behind the Push

The event is part of a broader push to bring county services into neighborhoods. Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Tomás Regalado wrote in a May 19 op-ed in Community Newspapers that "no homeowner should lose benefits because of lack of information or mobility challenges," citing traffic, distance and work schedules as barriers that keep residents from visiting county offices in downtown Miami.

Commissioner Fabiola Stuyvesant co-organized a separate Homestead Exemption town hall with Regalado at the Gateway Center Ballroom in May, signaling an ongoing city-county partnership on property tax outreach in Sunny Isles Beach.

More Services Available Later in the Week
