Sunny Isles Beach families can now sign up their kids for fall basketball, soccer, volleyball, and gymnastics after the city released its Fall 2026 Live & Play guide on Friday, July 31.

Registration is open. Resident ID cardholders got first access July 8; non-residents followed July 22. All programs are available online at sibfl.gov/activities.

The developmental sports lineup runs from late August through mid-November at Pelican Community Park (18115 North Bay Road):

  • Basketball: September 1 through November 14, with Saturday games, for ages 6–12 in three divisions. $180 residents, $360 non-residents.
  • Soccer: August 31 through November 18, with Saturday games, for ages 5–14 in five divisions. $180/$360.
  • Volleyball: August 31 through November 18, with Saturday games, for ages 8–13 in two divisions. $180/$360.
  • Gymnastics (recreational): Starting August 17, Monday/Wednesday, 3:15–4:15 p.m., ages 5–9. $110/$220 monthly.

A competitive gymnastics team begins September 1 at $160 for residents.

Andrea Nisenbon, who has coached the city's gymnastics program for 10 years and led her team to multiple national titles, is back this fall. "This team has accomplished so much with the resources they have," Nisenbon said in the guide. "They work hard, stay committed, and continue to succeed at a high level. Seeing them make it to nationals, that's amazing to me."

For younger children ages 3–6, Pee Wee Sports offers Saturday sessions: Ready, Set, Move! starting September 5, Floor Hockey starting October 3, and Soccer starting November 7, each at $70 for residents.

Competitive academy programs in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cheer require evaluation by SIB Athletics before registration. Academy pricing runs $225 for residents; select-level programs cost $450.

Intracoastal Sports Park still on deck

The guide also spotlights the Intracoastal Sports Park at 15800 Collins Avenue, listed as "Coming Soon." The facility broke ground February 26, 2025, and will feature multi-use courts for tennis and basketball, outdoor exercise equipment, and a pedestrian walkway.

Mayor Larisa Svechin said in her January 2026 State of the City address that the park was expected to open by mid-2026. As of the July 31 guide, no opening date has been announced. A March 10 city Instagram post showed the building already up, with a check-in office, seating area, restrooms, and walkways through the green space taking shape.

Athletic Programs Coordinator Jason Selznick oversees the sports offerings. Residents who need a city ID card for the discounted rate can apply or renew at sibfl.gov/residentid.

Programs are dark for Labor Day on September 1, October 19–25, November 11, and November 23–28.
