Drivers turning right from U.S. 1 onto North College Road in Aventura will lose access to the turn lane during daytime hours beginning Monday, Oct. 5.

The Florida Department of Transportation's District 6 announced on X that the right-turn lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The lane will reopen after 4 p.m. and remain open Fridays and weekends.

No end date announced

FDOT did not specify how long the closures will last. The Oct. 1 announcement listed a start date of Oct. 5 but no end date.

The agency also did not identify the construction project behind the closure or provide an alternate route.

Previous work reported at intersection

The intersection has already seen construction activity. FDOT posted alerts about overnight lane shifts on U.S. 1 at North College Road in late August and early September.

The agency has not said whether the new right-turn lane closure is connected to that earlier work.

The closure is scheduled during daytime hours, with the lane available before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m. on affected days.
