Twelve Aventura kosher restaurants plan to offer sukkah dining when Sukkot begins Friday, Sept. 25.

The restaurants appear on YeahThatsKosher's 2026 Global Sukkah Restaurants list, published Sept. 19-20 and labeled as the first version of a guide that will be updated through Chol Hamoed, the intermediate days of the holiday. The kosher food site said it has been collecting restaurant names from around the world where diners can eat in a sukkah during the holiday.

The Aventura restaurants on the list: Azumare, Baguette Nir, Cafe Cafe, Capas, Dixie BBQ, Foozo, Fresko, Grand Cafe, Hadekel, JZ Steakhouse, Levy's Shawarma and Soho Asian. Two Sunny Isles Beach spots, Luna and Slice, also made the list.

Here is what's known about three of them.

A closer look at three restaurants

Azumare, at 3585 NE 207th St., serves kosher Nikkei cuisine, a Japanese-Peruvian fusion. The restaurant is fleishig, meaning it serves meat.

Fresko, at 19048 NE 29th Ave. behind Biscayne Boulevard next to Publix, is a dairy restaurant with Latin, Mediterranean and Asian-influenced dishes. Diners can reserve at 786-272-3737.

JZ Steakhouse is an ORB-certified kosher fine-dining steakhouse at 16145 Biscayne Blvd. in North Miami Beach, minutes from Aventura. It is open Sunday from 4 to 11:30 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 5 to 11:30 p.m. It is closed Friday and Saturday for Shabbat. Reservations are available through Resy or at 305-677-7000.

Because the YeahThatsKosher list is still being updated, additional restaurants may appear before and during Sukkot. Diners should confirm sukkah availability directly with each restaurant, as the list does not specify whether outdoor seating is offered at every meal or requires a reservation.

Chabad hosts holiday events

Beyond restaurant dining, Aventura Chabad at 2801 NE 210th St. has scheduled several community events for the holiday, which runs through Sunday, Oct. 4. Programming includes a Sukkot Carnival Party, a Sukkot Under The Stars gathering, a Sukkah Hop and a YJP Sukkah, Steak & Spirits event.

The Carnival Party page includes an RSVP form and optional sponsorships starting at $36, though a specific date and time were not listed as of Sept. 21. Aventura Chabad's event page invites families to shake the lulav and etrog and learn about the holiday. Details are available at 305-933-0770.

Sukkot commemorates the shelters the Israelites used during their journey from Egypt. Observance centers on the sukkah, a temporary booth covered in foliage, and the waving of the Four Kinds: lulav, etrog, hadassim and aravot.
