Crema Gourmet, the Miami-born café chain with a location in Aventura, is shifting to seed-oil-free cooking and overhauling its digital experience as part of a brand-wide change at its nearly 30 South Florida and New York locations.

Aventura Americana reported Sept. 18 that the company calls the effort "Better Choices. Every Day." The evolution covers the chain's menu, visual identity, mobile app and loyalty program.

Seed-oil-free cooking and a simpler app

For Aventura regulars, the most tangible change is the food. Crema Gourmet is incorporating seed-oil-free cooking and expanding the ingredient and nutritional information available to customers. No rollout date has been set. The chain has not said when the reformulated menu will be fully in place at existing locations.

The updated app is aimed at simplifying ordering and the loyalty program. Crema Gourmet also plans fall community programming, including running clubs, fitness partnerships and events in Miami.

Why regulars call it a 'third place'

The Aventura location already draws a mix of remote workers, post-workout diners and grab-and-go customers. The chain's website says the café was named Best Café in Aventura Magazine's 2026 Best of Awards. In a May profile, Complot Magazine writer Leonardo Dávalos described the spot as a rare "third place" in Miami. Dávalos wrote, in a passage translated on the chain's blog, that the café "still manages to create a space where staying a while feels like it makes sense."

Fall drinks, deals and a new Kendall café

On Sept. 29, National Coffee Day, the chain will offer a free small coffee with any app purchase between 7 and 10 a.m., according to Premier Guide Miami. A pumpkin spice latte is available through Nov. 29, and a Halloween ube chai latte with cold foam runs Oct. 5 through Nov. 1.

Crema Gourmet opens a new location in Kendall at 13550 S.W. 120th St., Suite 408, on Friday, Sept. 25, with a grand opening event featuring free coffee and giveaways from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
